The World: Sydney - Australia loses its top brand spot to the US

Australia has lost its place as the world's top country brand for the first time in three years.

This is despite Tourism Queensland's "The best job in the world' campaign, which helped sustain the country's popularity with travellers.

According to the Country Brand Index, it has fallen two spots to third, behind the US and Canada respectively.

The Index is produced by Futurebrand, and surveys 3,000 international business and leisure travellers.
