The World: Sydney - Charity hits out at Nine for moving 'abuse' spot

The Nine Network has come under fire after moving a hard-hitting ad for the charity Adult Survivors of Child Abuse to a late-night, low-rotation slot following complaints.

The ad, created by Whybin\TBWA Sydney, features a father giving a disturbing speech at his daughter's wedding to highlight the long-term affects of child abuse.

But after receiving a number of complaints about the spot, Nine made a decision to only show it sparingly after a 10.30pm watershed.

Cathy Kezelman, the ASCA chairman, said: "This conspiracy of silence is exactly what we've been trying to combat and by taking the ads off, the Nine Network is perpetuating that silence."
