The World: Sydney - Coles marketing chief joins DDB to lead account

Tony Phillips, the head of marketing at Coles supermarket, has joined DDB to head the Coles account from within the agency itself.

The move comes just days after Coles appointed DDB to handle its advertising account, following a pitch that also involved JWT, George Patterson Y&R and Leo Burnett.

Phillips will join DDB in April next year, and will take on the title of national managing director of retail.

He joined Coles in May 2007, having worked previously at George Patterson Y&R in Melbourne as a managing director and national partner.
