The World: Sydney - Media spend decline to slow in second half of year

Media spend in Australia dropped dramatically in the first six months of 2009, according to the media agency Fusion Strategy. However, forecasts have shown that the second half of the year should see a marked improvement.

Fusion Strategy's report said that spending fell by around 7.48 per cent during the period, almost double the figure that was originally predicted.

However, this decline is forecast to slow to a fall of 1.58 per cent in the second half of the year, with the overall year down by 4.23 per cent.

At the beginning of the year, the overall fall in media spend was only predicted to be 0.54 per cent.
