The World: Sydney - Saatchis secures brief to promote honours system

The Australian government has appointed Saatchi & Saatchi in Sydney to raise awareness of the country's honours system.

The agency, which won the assignment in a three-way pitch, is being asked to raise the profile of such awards as the Order of Australia and bravery medals.

"Heroism is a broad term that applies to the whole spectrum of Australian life, from acts of charity to high achievement," Simone Bartley, the Saatchis chief executive, said.

She added: "The goal of our advertising will be to reach out to more Australians and to encourage them to nominate those whose achievements deserve to be publicly acknowledged."
