The World: Taipei - Carrefour severs six-year tie-up with Saatchis

Taiwan's leading hypermarket retailer, Carrefour, has ended its six-year relationship with Saatchi & Saatchi, sparking a round of redundancies at the agency. Earlier this month, Carrefour named Leo Burnett Taiwan as its agency-of-record for its $2.4 million creative account, after an informal two-month review process, which also included the local shop Union (a subsidiary of United), and McCann Erickson. Burnett has been briefed to develop brand strategy and tactical work for Carrefour. The retailer's media continues to be handled by Media Palette.
