The World: Tashkent - JCDecaux clinches 25-year street furniture deal

JCDecaux has signed a 25-year deal to operate bus shelters, street furniture and information panels in the Uzbekistan capital Tashkent.

The city is the largest conurbation in central Asia, boasting a population 2.1 million.

Jean-Franaois Decaux (pictured), said: "We are very pleased to enter the central Asian market through this long-term contract with Tashkent. Uzbekistan and its neighbours, such as Kazakhstan, are new emerging markets that are growing rapidly and are going to play a major role in the global economy."
