The World: Tokyo - APA trade mission aims to increase Japanese output

The Advertising Producers' Association, the UK trade body for commercial makers, has just returned from a trade visit to Japan to promote the services of British ad production and post-production companies.

During the five-day trip to Tokyo, 34 APA members met with Japanese advertising agencies including Dentsu, Hakuhodo, ADK and McCann Erickson Japan.

The APA aims to improve on figures that showed that UK production companies produced only 16 out of a total of 500 foreign-made commercials made for the Japanese market in 2003. More than 6,000 commercials are made for Japanese television every year.
