The World: Tokyo - Dentsu confident of continuing growth in 2007

Dentsu, the Japanese communications giant, has reported a gross profit of £146 million for the financial year that ended in March. And it expects to retain a steady upward path in line with the Japanese economy's moderate growth.

Under its president and chief executive, Tateo Mataki (pictured), the group said it was pursuing a wide range of activities in order to maintain a steady growth in its domestic ad market, develop ad-related activities and expand its business in content-related and overseas markets.

During the coming financial year, Dentsu expects to capitalise on events such as the Athletics World Championships being held in Osaka and the Tokyo Motor Show.
