The World: Tokyo - Dentsu gets bullish in face of record profits

The Japanese communications giant Dentsu reported a 2.5 per cent increase in gross profits to almost 326 billion yen (£1.5 billion) for the financial year to 31 March, reflecting the recent positive economic trend in the country.

The figure is a record for Dentsu and the company predicts it will do even better during the current financial year as a result of new initiatives in its domestic market and abroad.

Dentsu's bullish forecasts, despite ongoing concerns about oil-price rises, come on the back of an improving Japanese financial performance based on higher exports and production and higher private-sector demand.
