The World: Tupelo - Family group calls for Christmas boycott of Gap

The American Family Association is calling on US consumers to boycott Gap and its brands during the festive season because it claims the retailer's ads downplay the word "Christmas".

The AFA said its boycott call was in response to Gap's seasonal advertising and in-store promotions over the years, which have stayed away from recognising any specific religion. Last year's campaign was themed: "Merry Gap-mas." Crispin Porter & Bogusky has produced this year's Gap Christmas campaign, which the AFA claimed was offensive and patronising.
