The World: Vancouver - Vanoc struggles to sell $12m of Games adspace

Vanoc, the organiser of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, is facing a struggle to sell $12 million worth of outdoor adspace ahead of the event.

The organiser bought $40 million worth of adspace to stop non-sponsors placing ads in the vicinity of the venues.

But the recession has sparked fears of a raft of unpurchased inventory when the Games begin, causing Vanoc to invite US companies and non-official Olympic sponsors to purchase space.
