- After a two-month review, the online research and shopping service, WorldSpy, has appointed McCann-Erickson New York to handle its $12 million (£7.7 million) account.
It is not known how many agencies were involved in the review.
Alan Clingman, chief executive officer and co-founder of WorldSpy, said: "McCann-Erickson had the right mix of creativity and strategic branding counsel that WorldSpy was looking for. We will rely heavily on McCanns' expertise to increase awareness of the WorldSpy brand as well as the numerous consumer benefits that our site offers to online shoppers."
In addition to working with McCanns, WorldSpy will continue to work with another Interpublic Group firm, TSI Communications Worldwide, which has provided it with public relations support and strategic communications advice since July 1998.
WorldSpy was founded in 1997, and located at www.worldspy.com, its main focus is a comparative shopping service that enables consumers to review and compare thousands of products and purchase a variety of named brands directly from manufacturers.
