It has appointed Marco Scognamiglio, the managing director of its Scottish agency, as the joint managing director to work alongside the current managing director, Mike Larmer.
The senior hiring follows the departure of Adam Coleman, WWAV London’s chief executive, in September.
Larmer will have operational management responsibilities with Scognamiglio working on developing the business. Scognamiglio will be replaced at WWAV Scotland by John Young, currently the managing director of Wunderman Worldwide in Amsterdam. He previously worked in Scotland at Oneagency.
Chris Gordon, the WWAV group chairman and chief executive of WWAV London, said: “While it has been a difficult year for the industry generally, we are beginning to see green shoots emerge so it is imperative we add even more top-level resource to ensure we not only continue to deliver solutions for our existing clients but also grow the business.”
Gordon, who is also the chief executive of Rapp Collins Europe, has promoted Steve Grout, a managing partner at the London agency, to the post of development director of Rapp Collins Europe.
WWAV had a difficult few months this year, which culminated in the loss of its BT Business account. However, it has rallied in recent weeks with the capture of the WWF account, retaining Legal & General and winning more business from Pfizer, Cancer Research and Freeserve.
