Yahoo Europe appoints Chrysalis Group's Philip McDanell

– Yahoo! Europe has appointed Philip McDanell, from the Chrysalis Group, as its operations director.

He will oversee operations across Yahoo! Europe's eight local sites: UK & Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

At Chrysalis McDanell was group managing director responsible for 40 companies within music, television and radio. Prior to Chrysalis he was with MTV Europe having begun his career at HandMade Films, the major backer behind the first Monty Python film, 'Life of Brian'.

McDanell will be based at the Yahoo! European headquarters in central London. His new responsibilities will include defining and developing the plans for Yahoo's European operations, focusing on providing comprehensive local services for Yahoo! users and an effective platform for advertisers and merchants.

Fabiola Arrendondo, managing director, Yahoo! Europe said: "Philip has an impressive track record and is a dynamic addition to the Yahoo! Europe team. We're impressed by his ability to plan and grow company networks and believe he will help Yahoo! Europe build on its existing successes."
