Yahoo! has boosted its sales teams with the addition of three big
hitters from Capital, The Guardian and MindShare Digital.
From 4 September, Joannah Bishop will be responsible for managing
Yahoo!’s growing agency sales team.
Up until four months ago, Bishop was head of London sales at Capital

Phil Macauley will head the recently formed planning department. He
joins from MindShare Digital, where he was head of digital planning.
Macauley’s remit is to promote Yahoo!’s portfolio of marketing solutions
- such as web hosting, sponsorships and event marketing - and to serve
as a planning resource for existing and future Yahoo! clients.
One of Macauley’s aims is to encourage fmcg clients to enter into
co-branding exercises with the search engine. For example, a chocolate
bar might carry the Yahoo! logo and in return could have a direct
response mechanism or branding on the site.
Yahoo!’s recruitment drive has not stopped there - other new recruits
have joined the agency and client sales teams. Amanda McKeever joins
from Ziff-Davis; Donia Salah and Nick Waring arrive from IPC’s women’s
weeklies and television weeklies respectively; and Dan Brown joins from
Mirror Group Newspapers.
Angela Ousby, previously sales account executive, has risen to agency
group head and training manager.
Yahoo! UK & Ireland comprises five sales departments: agency sales,
client sales, client services, planning and sales production.
Lee Thompson, sales director of Yahoo! UK & Ireland, said he planned to
boost the number of sales staff by a further 23 by the end of the year.
