Yahoo and Sony sign marketing pact

LONDON - Yahoo and Sony have signed an undisclosed agreement to develop co-branding strategies through the line.

The companies are setting up a new web portal, Sony on my Yahoo, which will offer consumers access to Sony products, promotions and branded content.

Sony is loading its computers with special software which will speed up consumers' access to the site, and there are plans to develop online marketing for Sony Pictures Entertainment's on Yahoo's network.

Yahoo chairman and chief executive Terry Semel said the brands complimented each other perfectly for such a deal. He added other opportunities would be explored over time.
