Mother is continuing its expansion with the recruitment of two
creatives from HHCL & Partners - Jim Hosking and Yan Elliott.
The team were among the first batch of hirings made by Robert Saville,
Mother’s founder, after he and Jay Pond-Jones were made creative
directors of GGT in December 1994. The jobs at GGT were Hosking and
Elliott’s first in advertising following a five-month placement at
Saatchi & Saatchi.
’I’ve had my eye on Jim and Yan since they left GGT,’ Saville said.
’Their ideas are always challenging - they think odd. They are right for
Mother and it will be great to work with them again.’
The pair’s recent campaigns include poster work for Metz and Diet Tango,
the Sauza Tequila campaign featuring the blind man, Giles McKinley, and
the Vote Orange Tango commercial.
Hosking said: ’When Mother contacted us, we were interested straight
away. Robert is an inspiration to work with. He’s got this enormous
appetite for exciting, striking work and Mother is a confident, buzzy
Elliott commented: ’It’s a unique opportunity. Mother doesn’t want to
pigeonhole itself as ’this’ or ’that’ kind of agency. It’s a tight and
prolific outfit. We can’t wait to get stuck in.’
