Zenith Media has filled the gap left by the departure of its head

of planning, Rosemary Gorman, by promoting its communications director,

Gerry Boyle, to managing partner with overall responsibility for

planning.

Zenith poached Boyle from Michelides & Bednash in July to provide a

creative link between Zenith’s research and planning functions and give

the planning process greater customer focus.

Simon Marquis, managing director of Zenith, said: ’In the short time

that he’s been here, Gerry has added tremendous value to our thinking

and planning in the way we had set out in our brief. It’s wonderful to

find right under our noses a good solution to moving our planning

product forward.’

Boyle’s promotion follows the appointment last week of Rhona Tridgell to

head Zenith’s BT account as well as build the agency’s strategic

planning capabilities.

Marquis has also promoted two other associate directors. Tap Chauhan, an

associate director of the planning department, joins the Zenith board as

planning director and Jaime White has been promoted to broadcast

director.

Boyle said: ’We have to make people realise that the planning product at

Zenith is as good as the buying product and there is obviously work to

do in that area.’

He added: ’If you look at the work we are doing for our clients and the

new accounts we are taking on, Zenith is now a place where clients

increasingly seek strategic planning services.’
