Zenith picks Dobson as European director

Zenith Media has appointed Chris Dobson, the former sales director of MTV Networks Europe, to the new role of European business development director.

Zenith Media has appointed Chris Dobson, the former sales director

of MTV Networks Europe, to the new role of European business development

director.



Dobson’s appointment signals a more aggressive approach to new business

across Europe. It follows the relocation of Tim Jones, Zenith’s

worldwide business development director, to the US.



Steve King, Zenith’s chief executive of Europe, the Middle East and

Africa, said: ’There are more and more clients looking to regionalise

their activities so we need to harness those opportunities more

successfully.



’The business environment is becoming more complex, with consultancies,

strategic, interactive and direct services, so you need someone to

exploit those opportunities.’



Dobson left MTV in February without a job to go to after three years as

sales director. He has worked for a number of media owners and spent

seven years with Land Rover.



Dobson said: ’I have worked for media owners and been a client. The

agency is one side of the triangle that I have not been on.’



Dobson, who will be based in Zenith’s London office, will report to

Jones.
