Zenith strengthens management with European hirings

Zenith Media has made a string of new appointments to beef up its senior management across Europe.

senior management across Europe.



Pedro Merino has become general manager of the media agency’s Spanish

office, following the promotion of Jose Carlos Gutierrez to executive

vice-president.



Zenith was the fastest-growing media agency in Spain last year, with

billings up 30 per cent year on year. Recent account wins include

Sanitas and the Spanish Ministry of Education.



Zenith Media Germany has poached Harald Hormess from rival agency

Optimedia, where he was general manager for the Frankfurt office.

Hormess will work with Joachim Schutz, CEO of Zenith Germany.



The agency recently won four clients: the DIY store Hornbach, Surperfast

Ferries, luxury goods company Bree and Insurance City.



Rik Provoost has been promoted to managing director of Zenith Media

Belgium.



He was formerly deputy managing director.



Nicole Vooys has been promoted to CEO of Zenith Netherlands. She

replaces Wilma van Opstal, who is leaving to become an independent

consultant.



Recent account wins for Zenith Media Europe include Peugeot in Turkey

and American Express in Italy. The agency has 63 offices in 38 countries

and combined billings of over dollars 7.2 billion.



Its pan-European clients include British American Tobacco, Bristol-Myers

Squibb, Hewlett-Packard, Procter & Gamble, Puma and Rover.
