Rocket has been appointed the total communications agency for the

new-media sports company, Zoo Media, overseeing the media and creative

planning on the pounds 2.5 million launch of its first site, zoo

football.com.

Rocket will work alongside the virtual creative agency, Do, which was

set up last year by Chris West, who was previously at Mother.

Zoo football.com will launch next month, and will offer an irreverent

insight into the football world. Three other sites will be launched

later this year.

Commenting on Rocket’s appointment, Brendan Moffat, the marketing

director of Zoo Media, said: ’One of the reasons we chose Rocket was

because there is so much synergy between us. They don’t have a

conventional approach to media selection.’

John Harlow, managing director of Rocket, has also appointed a

communications strategist. Damian McKeown joins from Blue Source, where

he worked as a creative and planning director.

Harlow said: ’Damian is a very senior addition to the team. His core

skills are account planning and he will work across the Rocket

portfolio, adding depth to existing business as well as working on new

projects.’
