The 262m-long bridge was branded especially for the stunt, which saw Maddison leap from one side of the open bridge to the other.

Visit London's Events for London and Event Solutions teams worked with Red Bull to enable the top secret event to take place.

Red Bull X-Fighters is expected to attract around 17,000 visitors when it arrives at Battersea Power Station on 22 August.

"London is an ideal backdrop to stage a spectacular feat like this and we look forward to bringing the Red Bull X-Fighters event to London at the end of August," said Red Bull event manager Katie Holt.

A documentary of the jump will be screened on Channel 5 at 7.30pm tonight, or can be viewed at www.visitlondon.com.
