  • Lead the Analytics team within the Audience Insights & Analytics Group to add value with data-based analysis & insights
  • Work closely with AIA Business Partners and senior stakeholders to support fact-based decisions
  • Deliver innovation in analytics to drive transformation
  • Provide a centralised Analytics service across the business
  • Champion the new ways of working across Insights & Analytics

Roles & Responsibilities’:

  • Develop a sustainable and authoritative roadmap of reporting and analyses across the business, which concentrates effort on key business priorities with senior-level business sponsorship
  • Work with BPs to manage the prioritisation and delivery of briefs; direct skilled analytics to satisfy demand
  • Collaborate with the Insights team to provide a ‘joined up’ insights and analytics response to briefs
  • Create excellent relationships with stakeholders, partner agencies and analytics peers externally
  • Work with Technology to ensure that data streams, information management and analytics tools continuously improve    
  • Ensure reporting tools surface approved information allowing BPs and all stakeholders to self-serve easily and effectively
  • Act as an authority for technology and product decisions which would impact on availability or integrity of customer data
  • Develop the capability of Analytics team – ensuring managers and analysts have exposure to business operations
  • Ensure that development plans are in place and are aligned with identified skill requirements
  • Actively manage recruitment processes to ensure appropriately skilled resource is available
  • Exploit existing investment in tools and capabilities, including training
  • Lead and direct the appropriate use of third party analytical resources
  • Contribute to business-led proposition development, providing subject matter expertise around how the data landscape and digital tools should evolve and improve
  • Manage an associated budget for analytics tools and services
  • Contribute to initiatives for measuring and proving the return on investment


Skills & Experience:

  • Exceptional analytics expertise across spectrum of methods, including ability to identify & exploit consumer behavioural drivers
  • Broad News / Media industry experience is desirable
  • Proven track record of delivering commercially beneficial analytics and data-based insights to large businesses
  • High levels of logical thinking and problem solving skills, ability to draw meaningful conclusions from disparate and incomplete sources.
  • Technologically literate with good understanding of analytics technology
  • Ability to understand complex business questions and to be able to frame the right analytical question
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good knowledge of data exploration and presentation techniques
  • Ability to manage, influence and resolve conflict across stakeholders
  • Commercial focus and ability to realise potential of analytical insight investment
  • Numerically excellent – both commercially and analytically
  • A hunger to learn more about the latest analytics tools and techniques, coupled with an ability to translate this into true business action and value.
  • A natural communicator – able to communicate across the business right up to board level

Competitive Base – Up to £80,000 plus bonus & benefits
