Social Media Manager, Up to £50,000 pa – Midlands (can be home based)

A leading Midlands based national charity are currently seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to join their team to create, deliver and implement a full social media strategy.

This is a new role within the business offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work within an organisation who take a head and heart approach to everything they do, who believe whole heartedly that they are better together and who have passion with purpose.

You will develop campaigns that engage with the charity’s supporters via social media activity with the aim of promoting participation, fundraising engagement and loyalty. You will need to build strong relationships with colleagues and external partners in order to plan and implement integrated social media activities in line with the charity’s organisational and marketing strategy and will manage one direct report.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a social media strategy that is directly tied to the business goals and objectives of the organisation

  • Responsible for devising & executing strategies and campaigns to increase follower numbers & overall engagement (including paid for activity) with our brand across multiple social platforms to drive awareness and income.

  • Responsible for monitoring, managing & moderating the communities across the key platforms & providing vision and direction to the broader social team

  • Responsible for ensuring the social media strategy complements and supports the customer journey

  • Deliver exceptional copy writing and editing skills; being particularly adept at content creation for multi-channel use

  • Possess practical knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, social media analysis tools and demonstrate outstanding skills on how to use social media platforms to better engage with multiple audiences

  • Monitoring and analytics: Track, analyse and report progress in line with marketing and organisational objectives

  • Deliver engaging content and social led strategies to include: Identifying and segmenting target audiences; Commissioning, editing and writing engaging content including photo and video editing; Defining clear and measurable KPI’s

  • Working with key internal stakeholders to provide thought leadership, supporting the implementation of the social media strategy and sharing of best practices in the digital space

  • Provide regular stakeholder reports that analyse the success of social media activity in helping to achieve KPIs, including participation, financial targets and engagement

  • Use social media analysis tools and Google Analytics to regularly monitor engagement generated through social media activity, and use these insights to generate learnings to use for campaigns

  • Oversee the development and implementation of rolling content plans that align with wider online and offline PR and marketing activity

  • Work with the Website Team to coordinate link-building activities to drive online traffic

  • Review new technologies and keep the organisation at the forefront of developments in digital marketing

  • Manage the social media platforms outside of office hours

The successful candidate must have extensive social media marketing experience ideally supported by a related degree or equivalent.

Candidates do have the option to be home based with this role so location is flexible across the Midlands.
