My client is an integrated agency in South Buckinghamshire and they are seeking a talented Copywriter to join their creative team.

Role purpose:

The Copywriter will support the Head of Copy and will produce original copy and create content for a wide range of deliverables that include; direct mail, web pages, email campaigns, social media, whitepapers, advertising, marketing and sales brochures. You will bring creative copy to the table, takebriefs and work with the Head of Copy to deliver ideas directly to clients.

Copy will be required for both digital and print-based projects, as well as video.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Produce original copy. Be able to turn out a snappy strapline and a hard-hitting headline, as well as create content and craft longer copy for direct mail, web pages, news articles, email campaigns, social media, whitepapers, advertising, marketing and sales collateral, and scripts for videos
  • Brainstorm both visual and copy ideas with other members of the creative team
  • Amend copy in-line with client feedback
  • Work closely with both the client, and agency team, to ensure consistency and accuracy across all messaging – adhering to the brief and established brand values
  • Quickly pick up, employ, and evolve the client’s tone of voice
  • Undertake research and develop a deep understanding of our clients; their target audiences and their competitors
  • Generate engaging, customer-focused content that adds value to every experience

Experience & skills

  • Possess creative and conceptual flair, and enjoy working closely with designers to generate new ideas and solutions
  • Oversee and proofread copy produced by external freelancers for quality, accuracy and brand compliance
  • 2 to 3 years experience minimum
  • Technically adept and able to convert complex messages into easily understandable copy within brand guidelines
  • A strong understanding of design principles
  • Creative and imaginative; curious about client products or services
  • Skilled in writing accurate, clear, concise and grammatically correct copy
  • Understand the different language styles that appeal to various target markets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Work well under pressure and manage workloads effectively
  • Highly motivated and well-organised
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Maintain an interest in commerce, popular culture, and new advertising trends and techniques; analyse why loyal customers buy certain products; and keep an eye on competitor activities being delivered by other agencies
  • Ability to build positive, collaborative relationships at all levels
  • Evidence of an ability to understand new ideas quickly and to convey those ideas to others
  • Proven ability to write both online and offline
  • Experienced in B2B copywriting
  • Able to ensure internal processes are maintained and improved
  • Able to write press releases and other long-form copy
