Head of Art - Agency - Sport related - London - £60-65k

We have a fab independently owned creative agency producing amazing work, who are looking to double in size in the next 3 years. Their work is predominantly global and they use entrepreneurial creative thinking, to solve real business problems and to build commercially successful brands.

Their work covers insight, strategy, creative and design predominantly advertising, brand, marcomms and branded content, production film, photographic and brand experience and distribution influencer and social seeding.

We are looking for a talented Head of Art who has worked on lifestyle brands. We are looking for someone immersed in the new media landscape who is a culture vulture and seeks out new experiences to enrich their design direction. Who is on the cutting edge of current trends and who has a hunger to push design boundaries and lead a best in class team.

As a Head of Art you will lead the design and AV output, producing category challenging and award winning design for print, digital and motion graphics. We are looking for someone who inspires the rest of the team to push the boundaries of creativity, who understands the agency's target market and how to inspire and engage with them through design, who is looking for an environment where they can play a major role and be free to produce the best work of their life.

You will report into the Chief Creative Officer and work alongside the Studio Manager on workload management, resource, team development and management.

As Head of Art you'll be responsible for the quality of output and art direction for all creative design and AV work. Loving the tools, you will demonstrate a 'hands-on' approach to help mentor the team with design concepts and brand identity, being the brand guardian on all internal and external, design and AV work.

You will have an integrated background and understand the agency environment. You will have a strong portfolio across digital, audio visual and print. You will have an innate and demonstrable understanding of design, animation, video/film, print and social media. You will be obsessed with type, vector and image. You will love great photography, layout and branding.

Your Experience

  • Extensive experience in creating brand identity and campaign marketing communication materials for clients including AV, print and retail collateral, social media and related brand deliverables
  • Extensive experience in designing communication packages and environmental graphics for physical environments, particularly retail
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Outstanding team leadership skills and confidence in articulating and presenting concepts or ideas to clients
  • Relevant experience in a creative agency
  • A creative fire-starter with a robust and impressive portfolio
  • Able to see the strategic big picture and apply appropriate creative design to the challenge
  • The ability to create big, impactful design that works across multiple channels
  • A natural leader, inspiring to be around and interestingly both single-minded and collaborative in your approach
  • Ability to command a room presenting to senior marketing managers, CMOs or CEOs
  • The right candidate should have previous experience of leading and managing a design + AV team, either in a creative or advertising agency
