Digital Marketing Manager (Music Industry) - London - up to £50K (1 year FTC)


My client is one of the leading brands within the Music Industry with a number of well -known labels sitting under the group. The label I am currently recruiting for is one of the flagship brands. Where well-known and legendary artists are signed and performing on the world stage, whilst constantly topping the charts.


Reporting to the Head of Digital, you will oversee all digital marketing strategy, planning and execution including digital partner campaigns, social, content and community, and digital advertising for domestic and international (priority artists).

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing and analysing best in breed digital marketing campaigns, in line with commercial objectives and approved budget. The role will integrate seamlessly with the wider marketing team as well as core business functions across the UK and international brands. Responsible for working closely with social teams/ agency to drive audience growth & engagement, content strategy, advertising and innovation into all plans and will be able to deliver in all these areas with analytical and creative thinking.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement digital marketing and content / communication strategies to drive loyalty and advocacy both with fans and to a mass audience
  • Drive digital and new technology innovation to position artists, label and brand as industry leaders
  • Collaborate and build day to day working relationships with Sales teams to ensure excellence and integration of marketing strategy
  • Develop and implement individual strategy across artist's key platforms ensuring a consistently engaging audience experience.
  • Work with Marketing, Digital Creative & Creative teams to direct act's online visuals and assets, including videos
  • Manage creation of all digital tools, including photography, digital assets, video, moving images, & original content development throughout campaign
  • Maximize global revenue potential for all artists by close collaboration with the International Digital team
  • Work alongside CRM team to grow & engage Domestic and International audiences
  • Work with media agencies to build digital media plans that work alongside (cross platform) holistic media plans, adhering to approved project budgets
  • Identify new and external opportunities for artist promotion
  • Ensure timely delivery of all digital aspects of a marketing campaign in line with core project and approval route milestones, within budget
  • Communicate with internal & external artist teams, which may include, A&R, management and artists, on a regular basis to address concerns, manage expectations and maintain a good working relationship
  • Ensure use of consumer insight, in-house and commercial data throughout marketing campaign for planning, evaluation and identification of opportunity; interpret implications of quantitative and qualitative insight for marketing campaigns
  • Determine and brief the suite of social content needed throughout a campaign, with the aim to drive engagement and revenue.
  • Ensure content is optimised globally in terms of relevance and distribution
  • Propose original commissions to ensure continued engagement
  • Determine correct voice across content-types and online properties, using agreed upon artist vision brief (in partnership with Marketing Managers)
  • Ensure digital and social integration across all facets of an artist campaign
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales & Central Digital teams on streaming strategy and ideas around how to maximise and grow streaming through interesting digital initiatives
  • Increase loyalty and advocacy with fans, key influencers and media owners
  • Work closely with online PR campaign planning

Please ONLY apply if you possess the following:

  • Proven experience in digital marketing in the UK music market, ideally within a record label or entertainment brand or service
  • Knowledge and appreciation of mass market entertainment (including the music industry)
  • Proven track record of line management experience or leadership experience
  • Excellent project management skills - able to prioritise, organise a varied and full workload and work under pressure
  • Proven success managing external agencies: setting objectives and evaluating performance
  • Problem solving
  • Ability to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Innovative and creative thinking with the ability to share ideas, vision and plans with clarity
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Managed a team with strong leadership skills
  • Relationships across platforms including Vevo, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Shazam
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Thrives in a changing environment
  • Excellent communication - written and verbal
  • Genuine interest and active knowledge of digital marketing (including advertising, social, mobile, technology, etc.)
  • Awareness and interest in digital trends and emerging technology
