Major Players are currently working with a tech start-up based in West London who are looking for a Technical Director/CTO to lead their development team.

The Company
An ambitious and exciting creative tech start-up specialising in the invention, prototyping and building of software and hardware for bespoke interactive experiences across advertising, events and retail. These include cross platform VR, AR and Mixed Reality apps and games, electronic and physical interactive hardware and iOS/Android applications. Using their software development and events background they produce epic and reliable digital experiences for big name clients including HP, Samsung, Honda, Fiat, Sky and the NBA.

The Role
As the Technical Director/CTO you will work directly with the senior team and end clients to represent and grow the business, and will be ultimately responsible for ensuring that products and experiences meet all technical requirements before being deployed. Along with growing and cultivating the current team, your job will be to direct the technical team and help them deep dive into both legacy and new code to create new features and fix bugs. You will also be responsible for evaluating briefs, finding the correct technology to fulfil them and managing the execution and delivery of projects.

The Candidate
This role would suit someone with entrepreneurial grass roots and spirit wanting to take ownership and help cultivate an exciting and growing company.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science (or similar) and have previous experience of:

  • Mobile and desktop technologies including Objective-C, Swift and C# to a high level
  • Web technologies including Node.js, JavaScript, HTML and CSS to a high level
  • Unit and Functional testing
  • Networking and dev ops, including setting up basic networks, an understanding of protocols etc.
  • Writing detailed technical specifications for both clients and the internal team
  • Managing an Agile team of 5-10 developers
  • Speaking to and managing clients and senior stakeholders
  • Managing outsourced development teams
