This isn't your normal, run-of-the-mill agency sales role. There is no glass ceiling to this role.

For a start, I'm not going to try and tempt you with the fact that it's a start-up, that it's got high investment and a brand new product; the company has been around for a while, they've got offices worldwide (they've opened five in the past 12 months, are opening two more in Q1 and two more in Q2, and it's not going to stop there). They have a decent turnover, they're profitable, and they're publicly traded. They're not going anywhere. That's that risk mitigated.

They don't need you to have contacts within a specific agency group - just a good amount of experience in selling into agencies. The people they're already talking to are the big guys, you just need to add to that.

You're not going to be one small part of a huge team - there's one guy (good guy) in the UK who was originally based in the HQ abroad, who said to the senior management team 'I think we should hit the UK' and they said ok, if you think so, go make it happen. So he has. You'll work with him, plus a great girl who is doing a similar sales role, and a couple of juniors.

You can make a lot of money and build a team quickly, if that's what you want to do. The basic salary is up for discussion, as is the bonus. If you bring in revenue, they will give you money, and give you even more if you over-achieve. If you then need four sales execs to come help you, they'll give you the budget for that. But initially, it'll be you out there, using your contacts, bringing in revenue and making commission.

It's not a brand new product, BUT it is a seriously strong solution. It's a mobile DSP, but it's all based on first party data that they've accumulated over four years, and they've got an amazing amount of social data as well. They've got an in-house creative studio. They work across rich media, video, native, a bit of display, and they base the campaigns on behavioural and contextual targeting.

You don't need to have mobile sales experience - you DO need to have digital sales experience, contacts, a gut-punchingly strong desire to succeed and make money, tenacity, a true excitement about building something from scratch in the UK, and the ability to work autonomously, with accountability.
