Executive Creative Director
At Westco, a marketing agency owned by Westminster City Council, we provide full-service strategy, communications and transformation consultancy and implementation for some of the best, most diverse and busy public, private and third sector organisations in the UK.
This means we have a busy, multi-disciplinary team and a group of designers that deliver creative content across different media and clients, to the highest standards. We’re growing our business particularly in the UK local and central government and we are in need of a Creative Director to help expand our creative abilities and our organisational strengths.
Based in central London, this is a senior role. It is both a tactical and strategic role. As a result, it includes managing the design team and ensuring that there is the tactical ability to deliver the right work to the highest standards. At the same time you would be responsible for the completion and management of the practice’s business case, represent the team to the board and play your part in driving the strategic growth of the entire business.
Naturally, you will be an experienced and talented creative with an eye for great design, a conceptual thinker, and someone who will make outstanding creative work the baseline of our agency.
You will be leading a small but busy team, but one with great ambition serving both our external clients and our shareholder. As a result, it needs the right person to embed best practice, to raise the (already high) quality of work, to push new opportunities and to truly commercialise the team within the wider business.
You’ll be expected to work closely with the Operations Director and Managing Director across clients and initiatives. You’ll need to be able to spot potential within projects, to assist clients in identifying the best creative course of action, and you’ll help develop the skills of our account teams as they grow our business. You’ll be a mentor, and a leader. You will need to motivate people, and develop leaders within the team.
You should also be experienced in leading a team, managing creative process, and with proven abilities across a range of media, clients and campaigns. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to shape and grow a department into a best-class-class creative team.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
