Providing solutions to meet health and safety environmental legislation, whilst working with clients to improve business efficiencies. The Role - Sales Director

Reporting the the Managing Director, the Sales Director is a key member of the senior leadership team and as such we require candidates who have already operated successfully at this level within a business of similar or larger size. The business sales group is a team of 10+ who will be led by the successful candidate. Expected to work closely with the management board team, the regional directors and local general managers who operate the 70+ strong account management function, and in particularly with our Marketing Director with whom a strong working relationship is an important feature of the role.

We are looking for a heavyweight sales executive who has the gravitas and proven track record to help this PE backed business achieve its growth potential. The key challenge being to lead the team from its current level of activity in line with company turnover and margin aspirations but not at the expense of profitability.

Experience within the sector would be ideal or a similar aligned market working in similar channels would be preferred. A technical mindset and experience would also be advantageous but a process driven people manager is essential. Interaction with regional account management teams is also both a challenge and an opportunity to develop a company with extensive cross selling opportunities across multiple product groups, industry sectors and geographically across the UK.

Ideally based out of Surrey head office, there will be extensive travel requirements within the UK in pursuit of revenue and profit growth working with local teams and clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven sales experience, meeting or exceeding targets is a given with ability to leverage individual and team performance and revenue per head activity in the sales team
  • Previous experience operating at Sales Director level is a pre-requisite
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organisation from C-Suite, through operations to junior level management
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from initial planning through to close
  • Demonstrate a proven process driven methodology
  • Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services whilst positioning these in the marketplace
  • Capable of managing a wide product and service portfolio
  • Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
