Business Director - Independent Integrated Agency
My client is looking for a strategic senior account handler who can lead and develop a small but growing account management team and be a core part of the warm new business process.
8 + years agency experience, and ideally you will already be at business director or equivalent level having worked at both smaller and larger agencies.
Can manage and develop a broad church of clients across an integrated service offering with brand and digital at the heart.
A successful track record of building exceptional client relationships at senior level including at Marketing Director and Board level.
Gravitas and strong presenting skills.
A passion for business development and for new business and comfortably able to lead both pitches and client development initiatives with support from the department heads.
Strategically confident and able to advise clients and develop proposals that demonstrate insight into the clients needs – there is a planning department but at this level you will be able to contribute and advise clients on marketing strategy.
Commercially astute and used to owning the key financial processes including forecasting, profitability etc. Manage account teams to ensure all processes are correct and followed.
Foster a business development / sales culture amongst the AM team that promotes healthy competition and client growth whilst also developing and growing the teams skills and confidence.
Own the Client Development plan inviting all agency services to input progressive, integrated solutions. Present to the MD/ board bi annually.
Good creative instinct and understanding with experience working collaboratively with all departments to create exciting, progressive and effective work.
A background that can add value across a broad range of brands who are at different marketing lifestages from big global brands to lesser known challenger brands.

Conduct performance reviews with your direct report/s. Establish clear short and long term objectives; identify and monitor areas for improvement and establish a clear set of development actions designed to build on their strengths to help them achieve their potential.
Actively seek opportunities to attend industry events, participating and speaking on behalf of the agency where relevant.
