The Agency

Now you've got to Business Director level, I'd imagine your priorities have changed somewhat since your days as an Account Manager. It's great to have a central London agency but you need the management team to be a little more flexible.

You know that there will always be a need to work into the night for a pitch but you might also need to get home at a sensible time now and then to fulfil other commitments.

You still want to be proud of the award-winning creative going out of the door but strategic thinking (and your involvement in setting that strategy) are now just as important.

In short, you are potentially looking for a more grown up role in an agency which remembers that you have a life outside work.

The Role

Put simply, your role will be to develop the account and to develop the team.

You'll be leading an established team working on one of the agency's flagship accounts. The work is very integrated but broadly covers CRM/DM, OOH, press, digital, social, print and in-store. At the core of every campaign however is a focus on data and the customer journey.

Given the importance of this account of the agency it should be no surprise that the wider team is made up of key people - the Head of Strategy and the ECD are regularly involved.

In addition, the main contacts at the client expect to be challenged and questioned - they definitely don't want a Business Director who just agrees with them.


You will already be an integrated Business Director (or exceptional Senior Account Director) with a strong leaning towards CRM/direct channels.

You will have shown your ability to oversee complex accounts and to develop innovative campaigns.

Your CV will show a track record of helping your team to become the best that they can be whilst also increasing the revenue/profitability of your accounts.

Most importantly is the demonstrable credibility to represent the agency at all-agency meetings and to a major UK PLC.
