Midweight Designer (Shopper/Activation)

What's the role?
The aim of the creative function at this agency is to elevate the shopper space by turning media challenges into surprising & exciting creative solutions and shopper experiences. They're looking for an ambitious Designer to join the team and help them bring to life the campaigns they create for their brand and retail clients. It's an exciting time for their team and there's lots of room to bring creative flair to your work. They'll be looking to you to help them develop big ideas and design experiences for the shopper environment, whether in-store or online. You'll need to be able to juggle the needs of both retailers and brands simultaneously, being respectful of both and creating campaign creative that will get people to buy. This role will suit someone who thrives in a busy environment and working with a small, but highly dedicated team. You'll need to be able to work to a managed schedule, working fast without compromising on quality and ensuring all design criteria, timescales and budget constraints are met. They will expect you to be highly organised and demonstrate a real eye for detail. You need to bring with you a friendly, collaborative attitude, demonstrating professionalism at all times.
Key day to day responsibilities include:
Interpreting briefs and specifications . Turning a creative proposition into an initial concept to bring the idea to life . Understanding the specific brand guidelines to ensure you get the creative right first time . Developing an initial concept and turning it into final artwork . Designing artwork for shopper marketing campaigns to specification (inc POS, experiential, digital) . Collaborating with the Client and Planning teams, scheduling of work and deadlines . Quality assuring and proofing every artwork element shared with clients . Preparing and supplying approved artwork for print and online . Developing and communicating clear, qualified rationale for each creative execution, describing how it aligns with the client objectives & strategy . Help lead some of their creative thinking and share your ideas and process with the Creative Director
The ideal candidate will have experience as an integrated designer and solid design - orientated portfolio to showcase themselves. Any understanding you have of the digital environment and a flair for conceptual thinking would be a bonus! You must be a good all - rounder, and be able to design and scamp with ease. Ideally, you'll have worked in a busy studio or agency environment before and will be able to show us examples of when you've worked to a variety of brand guidelines and have applied your meticulous eye for detail to the design process.
Specifically, you need to:
Be an expert in Adobe CC; Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop . Have experience in both online and print, accurately following brand guidelines . Be able to prioritise workload and work within tight deadlines . Take verbal or written briefs and be able to input creatively to the design process . Retouching skills are a must.
