Senior Creative Project Manager
World-class, multi-awarded creative agency, based in London are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join them.
Our clients often expect and require us to create big multi-channel ideas that span multiple production disciplines. Our Creative Project Managers are talented people who manage these complex programmes of work and take an end-to-end, strategic approach, from inception to final delivery, maintaining ownership of deliverables throughout. You’ll be the lead contact from an integrated project perspective and the face of specialist producers, when they aren’t in the room.
You will need to inspire confidence, at all levels. You’ll need to be empathic leader, great at bringing out individual talent in. You’ll need to engage and motivate teams to deliver their best, even when they’re faced with challenging tasks. Everyone needs to see and know you as the project leader.
You’ll need to be totally on top of your accounts, from the moment an ambition is set on a project, through to final delivery, results and learnings. You’ll need to know exactly what needs to happen at every stage of the project. You always do the driving and aim never to be chased about anything.
Your strong partnership with Creative, Planning, Account Handling and Production will enable us to create brilliant work. You will strive to increase quality and efficiency through smarter ways of working across our client portfolio.
You will ensure that briefs are correct and approved before work starts, to ensure that the right objectives and approach are in place from the beginning. You’ll have an eye for the detail, ensuring that anything leaving the building is correct, on brief and on brand, by ensuring that internal teams have time to review and approve work in good time.
You’ll need to play an active role in creative development, by adding technical and production guidance when appropriate and by proactively identifying and solving issues.
You’ll need to be a strong advocate for project planning and the driving force behind creating and delivering award-winning work. You’ll need to know when and how to identify and pull in the right resources from across the agency, developing an effective and achievable plan of action.
You’ll be at ease offering strategic project advice to senior members of the account team and comfortable that you can make things happen quickly, when you need to. You’ll need to be able to articulate the benefits of doing the job right to the client, rather than doing it ‘right now’. The introduction of Creative Project Management is intended to help manage and reduce the volume of last minute, poorly conceived briefs, helping the agency delivered the best possible creative output. You’ll set key meetings (e.g. briefings, WIPs) well in advance and will manage the progress of each project progress to live up to client expectations.
Your timing schedules will need to be clear and realistic, created with input from internal specialists, if needed. You’ll need to be able to assess concepts and ensure that the scope of work matches the
project budget and time frame, while still allowing for maximum creativity.
The success of any project relies on delivering the right communication at the right time to the right people. You won’t sit behind your laptop relying on emails, you’ll physically get involved and be in the thick of it, making things happen – taking the time to check in with the strategists, creative, account team and producers working with you, keeping them involved and up to date. With start to finish responsibility on projects, you’ll arrange and chair internal reviews, with a clear view of actions and next steps. As work progresses, you’ll be the consistent bridge between creative development and production phases, and will partner with the agency lead client team to ensure that creative excellence is upheld.
