Are you a Category Executive or Junior Category Manager with FMCG experience now looking to step up into your first proper Category Manager role with real responsibility? This might your ideal career move for you!

My client is a large, well-known European chilled food group with global reach and worldwide sales of over €4billion across 120 countries. The business has an unrivalled heritage and a reputation for manufacturing a range of premium quality products and is a leader in its category.

The company manufacture and market a range of top brands in the UK, some of which are fully supported with on-going above-the-line marketing, including TV advertising, together with a strong private label portfolio across the UK market.

The group has ambitious growth plans for their UK business including substantial investment in production and marketing, which will provide future opportunities within the broader commercial team. As part of this growth objective, the company are looking to expand the Category team with the brand new appointment of a Category Manager.

The chosen candidate will be well-trained and have gained hands-on experience in supporting or directly managing a growing category within a recognised branded or own-label FMCG food/drink or non-food business, across the Grocery Multiples or Retail Convenience channels.

Working in collaboration with a small, close-knit team of sales and marketing colleagues, you will take responsibility for developing and influencing the category agenda with a selection of Retail Grocery customers; providing compelling recommendations for retailer range reviews and driving actionable, tailored trade plans. In addition, there will be opportunities to get involved in ad-hoc, company-wide category projects. Previous knowledge of working with multiple data sets, e.g. Nielsen, and generating key insights is essential.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate a confident and articulate personal style with strong commercial acumen and good numerical, analytical and presentation skills combined with personal drive and a desire for development.
