We're looking for an experienced Strategic Business Consultant to undertake a full and comprehensive commercial review of our clients home care service. You will assess the commercial viability of this arm of the business, both now and going forward.

In this role, you will undertake detailed analysis, produce reports, present strategic options and make recommendations to the board. Your findings will enable the Board to make decisions as informed by the outputs from the your review.


The purpose of the role is to conduct a detailed strategic review of the performance and potential of the Home Care division of the organisation. Some of the critical questions they want answered are:

- What is the scope, scale and overall trendline of growth for the market in the North West region?
- Which areas of the market are performing well and which providers are demonstrating sustained growth?
- How will demand change in the decade ahead, in terms of both volume and customer need?
- How does our model compare to competitors and where are current/potential points of differentiation for them?
- What is the optimum commercial model?
- What level of investment would be required to scale the proposition to a resilient level over the next 10 years?
- If the Board were to decide against this investment, what would be the alternative options for the existing business?

Key Accountabilities
- Delivery of all detailed analyses, reports, strategic options and recommendations.
- Production of a Board-ready business case with a specific, fully costed business plan to achieve the final recommendations from the Strategic Review.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Market and competitor analysis
- Commercial modelling
- Business case production
- Preparation and presentation of high quality Board papers.

Desired Skills & Experience

- Evidence of improving the commercial performance of a service organisation (ideally in the health care sector)
- Experience of developing the product and service portfolio of an organisation (ideally in the health care sector)
- Achieved increases in customer acquisition and retention in previous consultancy roles
