Account Director - B2B digital and integrated marcoms agency
Our client is an independent full service integrated marcoms agency that was first established in the late 80’s and has not only survived but maintained its position in the market place.
A team over 50 bright, creative individuals make up this forward thinking agency, built on digital transformation and traditional marcoms.
We would describe this agency as a life style agency… but we don’t mean lifestyle as in part time. Rather they believe in empowering and encouragement, allowing you the breath, explore new ideas whilst supporting you to ensure you have a work/life balance. No one can be productive or effective if they are working 12 plus hours a day.
Due to growth this agency is now seeking an experienced Account Director with broad versatile experience.
We aren’t looking for a typical Account Director, this person needs to be a real leader. And we don’t just mean leading people. You will take the lead on one of this agency’s flagship accounts and will be expected to develop this YoY.
You will have a passion for creativity and understand the importance this plays when trying to do things differently in an off the shelf market.
You will be someone that people will respect because you aren’t a bark orders type of person. You will remember what it’s like to look after the up and coming talent and nurture them as they will ultimately be the ones that make your life easier.
Be prepared to role your sleeves up and get stuck in. As you should lead by example. Leaders are involved, not sitting on the side lines giving motivational speeches.
You will be a voice in the room, someone people will look up to because you are knowledgeable and your team will trust you.
There is some fantastic talent within these walls and as we mentioned earlier this agency embraces development. That means a big part of your role will be to mentor and guide.
On top of this you will have P&L responsibility for multiple key accounts and you will be expected to have an overriding key relationship with all of your clients as the buck stops with you.
To be suitable for this role you will have strong integrated B2B and some B2C marketing agency background with lots of digital experience as well. I know that’s kind of obvious in today’s market but we do need to highlight this.
Its OK if you don’t have a purest B2B background but the split between B2B and B2C should be in favour of the former.
The clients are a mix of FMCG, Financial Services and Healthcare so ideally some exposure to these sectors would be ideal.
Finally, without over egging this you will need to be a charismatic leader who is happy when required to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in. This isn’t an ivory tower role and these days what roles are. However, you should have strong account management and delivery experience and know what it takes to get the job done. The teams will respect that and will want to know you understand the ups and downs of day to day agency life.
In return for your experience as an Account Director our client offers a competitive salary ranging between 45k-50k plus benefits all depending on experience.
