UX Research Manager | Global retailer | £60-75k

We're looking for a UX Research Manager to join one of the largest, most well-respected companies in the UK. The client are a retailer known globally, are continually looking for ways to become more consumer-centric and this role will play a key part in determining this.

The overall aim of the role is to effectively identify customer needs and deliver the insights that can inform the development of user friendly interfaces and their digital products. You will lead the team of UX researchers and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of designers, marketing, tech and product team. Previous line management experience is essential for this role.

You'll ultimately be responsible for the whole of the UX research team from budget, managing recruitment and training, to running meaningful projects using a range of research methods/techniques including: lab-based field research, usability studies, ethnography, creation of user profiles, surveys and competitor analysis. You will have the chance to shape the methodologies, and use your expertise for however you see fit for the project aims.

Experience / required skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of UX research and experience using a range of methodologies in this area (ethnography, usability studies etc.)
  • Previous line management of successful teams is vital for this role
  • Excellent communication & presenting skills
  • Experience in a retail, fmcg, online or e-commerce environment
  • Problem-solving mentality, commercially minded and self-starter
