We are looking for a Digital Project Director to join this lovely agency in the heart of London! You’ll work alongside the Delivery Team and the Project Management Team to co-ordinate various incoming projects, being the one in the know for all Digital projects whilst also working on and managing the delivery of challenging digital projects. 

It’s imperative you’re fluent in digital and that you have a strong understanding of how websites and mobile apps work as we’ll need you to use that understanding across our largest client. Your role will mostly cover delivery of strategic experience design projects, using a Kanban process. From the moment they come through our front door as briefs or requirements, through a prioritisation process to delivery. You will be expected to plan, manage and tie together multiple projects quickly; knowing what is required and which team members to call on to ensure a high quality delivery. We need a sharp writer of SOWs. You’ll need to report regularly on how projects are progressing, their financial health, or any looming quality issues. In addition to the stream of work you will be working across a number of other clients acting as a teacher and mentor to at least 2 other team members.

You’ll be a champion for Project Management in the agency continually striving to prove its value and assisting the account management team deliver good results. You’ll work with clients to manage expectations whilst giving them assurance. You will be expected to partner with a Senior Account Director, Business Director as well as the Client Services Director and Delivery Director to achieve this.

Your Responsibilities & Skills

-    Driving the success of digital projects across all the agencies clients;
-    Working as part of the newly appointed team to run the digital programme of work for .com, eCRM, for retention and broader digital campaigns as well as across other clients;
-    Management of risks and ensuring all team members understand them and the ramifications;
-    Hands on management of projects as and when necessary but particularly in applying your digital expertise and experience;
-    Ensuring that plans are adhered to, and when not, escalating issues to the relevant project stakeholders;
-    Working with your project teams to estimate the budget;
-    Working with the Resource team to ensure your project team’s projects are suitably resourced;
-    Managing production as well as hands on producing across the programme of work
-    Working with the team to develop the future vision and develop apps and CRM programs
-    Producing eCRM website builds, social media aps, rich media, mobile aps
-    Manage all aspects of the programme of work and project – scope, risk, schedule, budget, quality, delivery on time on brief on budget and all associated client and account communication
-    Ensuring effective project management process, and creation of key documentation – project plans, estimates, scope of work documents, status reports, risk assessment plans, change requests, resource requests and project recovery plans etc
-    Work closely with the governance team and 3rd party teams, communicating with teams on an ongoing basis and ensure changing resource and project requirements are understood and met
-    Actively encourage communication across the group and other disciplines within the agency inc (planning, creative, technology, production, finance, strategy and account management) ensuring a smooth and productive flow of work
-    Ensure Delivery Director is kept up to date on project status and that any issues are escalated and quickly resolved
-    Client facing as/when required
-    Being an advocate, across the agency for the Agency Delivery Process and being able to ensure consistency across working process and best practices
-    Participate in internal project and production team programmes including status meetings, post project reviews, internal process initiatives and ongoing improvement practices
-    Working closely with the Delivery Director to help with the ongoing improvement practices and in growing and mentoring the department
-    Running the programme of work, overseeing all projects in production, including setting up clear ways of working with the client, any third parties and on the client business
-    Line management of direct reports (specific junior team members as agreed, envisaged to be 1-2 PMs)
o    Oversight of ALL of their projects / client work (this includes any ad hoc clients that they work on, but which may not be part of your core client group)
o    Guiding, mentoring, training them
o    Monitoring their utilisation across projects and reporting this and any new briefs / projects to Delivery Director
o    Acting as initial point of escalation to them and liaising with the Delivery Director where required
o    Completing initial checks of their Scope documentation before these are passed on to the client
o    Conducting catch ups and performance reviews, in conjunction with Delivery Director

    Brilliant writing skills – a way with words able to define a complex problem, quickly and simply within an SOW;
    You’ve got solid proven experience of managing complex website builds and eCRM workflow and six figure programmes of work;
    Proven experience working with Adobe Experience Manager and external development teams;
    You’ve also got a Project Management/Production background in managing some more varied digital and integrated projects across different platforms to best practice standards;
    Good technical understanding of eCRM delivery systems and processes, as well as front and back end digital development (Social platforms,  web / microsite, CMS builds, digital comms, mobile etc);
    First class management and leadership skills, able to problem solve and remain calm under pressure;
    Excellent (and painstaking!) attention to detail, ability to multi task and prioritise, as well as thrive working on very varied projects in a busy environment;
    Excellent communicator, who has a strong work ethic with dedication to quality and who is energetic, positive, trustworthy and flexible;
    Good people person, with experience of managing teams and line managing or training production team members;
    A genuine interest in 'Digital Culture', new innovation and technologies and a desire to push the boundaries;
    Experience of the Agile methodology is an advantage.

You love to share new finds with others and help people see things from a fresh perspective, not just interested in how we do it, but how we do it better. Your knowledge of digital is cutting edge, whilst your ability to deliver is second to none. You’re as comfortable delivering multi-faceted, multi-lingual large banner campaigns as you are delivering £500k+ mobile apps for multiple platforms. You can explain the differences between Agile and Waterfall whilst knowing what elements of either to apply and when.

Others would describe you as a well-liked, trusted and pivotal to the agency, fixer. You know how to get stuff done. A doer. You’re a very confident Project Manager who’s looking to step in to a senior role. 
You’ll need
    A strong desire to deliver innovative, creative solutions;
    To be comfortable managing multiple disciplines, from Strategy to UX and UX to Tech;
    Excellent verbal and written skills;
    Able to communicate with authority with good influencing and negotiating skills;
    To be highly organised and detail oriented
    Proven experience working in a digital agency environment;
    Strong Visio and Microsoft Project skills (or Mac equivalent such as Merlin);
    A good understanding of mobile app and website development;
    Face-to-face experience of working directly with clients;
    Experience with an agile methodology;
    To be a clear and articulate communicator and a good listener

A plus
    Prince2 or PMI certification; 
    Experience managing 3rd party production.

Please note, the majority of work will not be end-to-end delivery. The right candidate will be comfortable handing off to external development teams.
