MARKETING ASSISTANT

OVERVIEW:

The Roald Dahl Story Company (RDSC) manages the copyrights of the world’s number one storyteller - Roald Dahl. The slate of activity that the RDSC coordinates ranges from developing new publishing, merchandise and digital products to activating major new films, television series, stage shows and partnerships. RDSC also develops and drives a range of branded platforms such as the annual Roald Dahl Day and new to market campaign platforms such as Roald Dahl’s Imaginormous Challenge.

The Marketing Assistant will contribute pro-actively to the ongoing growth of the business, inspiring new generations of children to engage with Roald Dahl’s characters and stories. This role supports the implementation the marketing plans within the UK and other key international markets.

This role will be ideal for a junior marketer with 1-2 years of experience within client or agency side who is looking for their next challenge. They must be passionate about driving brand awareness and spotting opportunities to take brands to new fans.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working in a small but growing marketing team – providing ad-hoc support to the Marketing Manager, Marketing Director and Junior Digital Manager
  • Implementation of marketing campaigns in the UK and key international markets
  • Support on creative and marketing copy for partnership campaigns driven by both RDSC and its range of publishing, entertainment and other licensing partners and collaborators 
  • Support on content and copy production for the Marketing Manager and Junior Digital Manager
  • Diary management for the Marketing Director
  • Supporting development of brand platforms such as Roald Dahl Day and Imaginormous – including roll out to key international markets
  • Support on creation of lesson plans and other educationally focused assets   
  • Support with experiential marketing opportunities and development of associated asset library
  • Support presentations for key partners
  • Conducting ad-hoc research and analysing data
  • Managing asset banks and key contact for deploying assets to partners
  • Writing and proof reading creative copy
  • Meeting set up support and minute taking for the marketing team
  • General office admin

KEY SKILLS:

  • A focused and self-motivated individual with creative flair and a proactive attitude
  • Evidence of a strong background in marketing within client or agency side, or a very strong interest in developing a career in brand
  • Good organisational and planning skills with ability to prioritise
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience of copywriting and reviewing creative
  • Commercial awareness and interest
  • Numerical and IT skills
  • Adaptability
  • Use of Keynote, Adobe suite and Photoshop would be an advantage
