Description of the role

The Advertising Manager supports the Group Advertising Manager in team organisation, maximising profitability,  knowledge share and employee development.


• Sell at the highest level and demonstrate strategic thinking, revenue increases via account development and creative sales. You should be generating the lion’s share of revenues.

• Develop new advertising opportunities including native advertising, thought leadership, sponsored content and advertorial packages across multiple channels

• Lead by example in terms of presentation, time keeping and administrative requisites including; accurate weekly updates and forecasts, accurate sales pipeline per sales exec, accurate sales order confirmations, effective liaison with credit control, sales ledger reporting, inventory schedule maintenance and updating, up to date flat-planning and positioning of all sold inventory

• Attendance at client meetings/events when required

• In-depth understanding of client industry and market

• Run commercial client meetings as required 

• Identify, propose and implement new commercial initiatives

• Prepare all sales documentation for the team including slide deck presentations and media kit.

• Identify ways to reduce non productive sales activity

• Day to day management of key reports including ongoing sales tracking, mentoring and training

• Up-to-date knowledge of advertising industry and trends including digital developments

• Propose KPIs including sales targets for direct reports

• Regular, accurate forecasting across account(s)

• Liaison with Account Management, Production and Finance teams as required.

• Deputising for Group Advertising Manager as required

• Implement new ideas for lead generation and new revenue streams

• Identify areas for process efficiencies and implement as require

• 5+ years industry experience


• HE degree or equivalent
