As Jaguar Communications Director you will play a key role in the next chapter in the history of this truly iconic brand.
You will join the business as we are reshaping our whole marketing, experience and PR operation, uniting previously separate functions to create a modern communications powerhouse for the business, called Customer Experience.
IN THE ROLE
You will be responsible for the full span of Jaguar marketing communications delivering real business value and profitable growth for the brand. Reporting to the Customer Experience Director and working closely with Executive Leaders across the business you’ll manage the positioning, strategy, content marketing, brand, social and digital media, sponsorships and channel strategies. You’ll deliver a publishing-focused communications model that creates rich, exciting and informative content across multiple channels converting prospects into sales and ownership into loyalty.
Partnering across the business you’ll align communications, public relations and marketing strategies with the corporate mission, business objectives and the corporate strategic direction. You will lead the Jaguar communications team in the development and delivery of Jaguar internal and external communications that reach a broad range of new communities and media alongside the traditional automotive communications channels and audiences.
You‘ll work in collaboration with the International PR team to implement our PR strategies, with focus on delivery of ‘share of voice’ and tonality objectives across all markets. You will also build and sustain Jaguar online communities, growing our supporter base and traffic. You’ll stay abreast of emerging opportunities and competitor activity to implement innovative and effective social media strategies.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll be a highly experienced communications professional working at a senior, strategic level. You will be experienced in delivering successful creative marketing communications and PR programmes and the capability and willingness to explore new tools and communication pathways. You will be skilled at “finding the story” and the right channel to tell it.
You will have substantial experience of media relations, press office activities, PR and the ‘earned media’ communications arena. You’ll also have excellent working knowledge of the full media landscape (ideally globally) and news awareness; strong experience in digital planning and global cultural insights.
You’ll have strong digital, social media and marketing analytics skills, data insights and an ability to decipher trends. You’ll be articulate, with strong presentation, verbal and written communications skills. You’ll be a strong networker; able to win trust and to influence; listen and understand others' views.
Ideally you will have experience of working in the automotive sector or have a real passion and affinity for the Jaguar brand. Broader involvement with other relevant industries would be an advantage, as would experience of working in a global market, understanding and adapting to different cultures. You’ll be an inspirational leader, demonstrated by low-ego approach, but positive and up-beat style.
