Well rounded FMCG Brand Manager role in a large global FMCG business with strong household name brands (as well as some exclusive retailer brands) in the UK, a strong growth market for the company. A fantastic, rare opportunity for a promising, high achieving ABM to step up into and larger 360 role with full responsibility for a portfolio - a fantastic springboard to accelerate your career in FMCG and demonstrate high levels of ownership and autonomy at an early stage. Located in Surrey, easily commutable from central London.

Reporting into the Marketing Manager you'll develop and deliver the marketing objectives for a key brand portfolio. Proactively understand and meet the requirements and concerns of customers/consumers, and deliver a first class service to meet those needs. This will be through both personal performance and, effective leadership of the brand and related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Planning: lead the delivery of 2019 / 2020 brand plans for Branded Portfolio,

  • Develop inspiring and compelling plans for the brand in 2019
  • Key customers presentations (Major Mults, Convenience, Discounters, and Online)

New Product Development: leading the innovation pipeline for Branded Portfolio;

  • Recipe development and testing with the factory R&D team
  • Packaging design brief and execution with key brand agencies
  • Management of the NPD pipeline of for the portfolio
  • Proactively manage and communicate with the factory, ensuring marketing plans are completed to a high standard, on time and on budget

Business Analysis: analysing performance to provide actionable insight and recommendations;

  • Take full responsibility for the brands monthly IBP contribution
  • Monitor performance vs objectives, review both brand and competitor performance
  • Outline recommendations for action when and where necessary

Brand Communication: developing communication campaigns to support the growth of the brand;

  • Work with key brand agency to create stand-out and engaging brand communications
  • Manage all testing of creative ideas with group aligned agency
  • Work with media agency to define and manage media for the portfolio

Commercial Management: owning the portfolio budget;

  • Budget reconciliation, PO creation and management
  • To Contribute to the delivery of the business Vision and Values
  • To Ensure that appropriate standards of conduct are complied with at all times
  • To Ensure all allocated brands/products marketing activities are legally protected and approved through UK and central services

Key Skills:

  • Experience in FMCG marketing (ideally food or retail)
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Drive for achievement: curious, passion to succeed and make a difference
  • Ability to tackle challenging situation and manage tight deadline
  • People leadership: ability to interact effectively with people at different levels
  • Commercial with evidence of managing a full brand P&L
