Senior Account Director role at an award-winning integrated and ATL agency, to head up the CRM business for a luxury automotive brand, part of a fully integrated team.

The account team

As the largest team in the agency, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys

being a part of a big team. Life is too short to not enjoy work right?

We work as a fairly flat structure with the team working across channels, ATL, Social,

Digital and CRM. We also work alongside the day to day planners on the business as

well as regularly checking in with the creative teams and external partner agencies.

The role

We’re looking for an Senior Account Director to join our team and we’d be interested

in someone who would like to join a fully integrated account. For this role we’re

specifically looking for someone to be responsible for directing and managing the

overall CRM business for our flagship luxury automotive account.

 

You will provide significant support to the Strategy Lead and Managing Partner in

developing the Client’s business within the Agency, and ensure the overall

satisfaction of the Client. This includes overseeing profitable campaigns and the

development of clear strategic direction to deliver on programme needs that ladder

up the current and 2018 / 2019 priorities.

This role will require you to be the senior agency contact for the CRM Client lead but

will also allow you to build relationships with further Senior Clients and Stakeholders.

At this level you should be taking the initiative in driving forward the strategic and

creative directions of your Clients’ business.

Main areas of responsibility

This role would require you to manage the Customer Engagement and

Communications team within the client account, including steering the coordination

and direction of work from 2018 into 2019. You will become the strategic owner of

creating a single customer journey view and in particular, prove the

effectiveness of streamlining processes in key pain point areas.

As well as driving the strategy forward, the role will also entail ensuring management

of key clients and more junior members of staff.

 Developing and maintaining profitable Client business, always seeking

growth where possible.

 Being a role model within your team and leading by example by delivering

exemplary Client Service & strong strategic direction.

 Making a significant input into overall strategic and creative direction for

their marketing and communication plans, together with the Managing

Partner.

 Inputting into growth and further development of wider Client business

within the Agency.

Communication/relationships

 Establish and maintain excellent relationships with the client CRM lead, 

data lead & other Senior Clients.

 Ensure you are a trusted advisor and confidante for the Clients.

 Maintain communications with senior members of other departments to

ensure your Clients’ needs are being met.

 Together with the Business Directors / Managing Partner ensure that Senior

Agency Management is aware of the needs and requirements across your

specific area and foreseeing any challenges and propose solutions.

 Identify and with the help of senior Agency management exploit organic

growth within your specific area.

 Support Business Directors / Managing Partner on Client appraisals ensuring

they happen and that actions are agreed and implemented after each review.

 Maintain communications within the CRM team to ensure best practice

is shared across the team.

 Inspire confidence amongst senior clients (as well as being approachable for

more junior clients).

 Market your area of expertise within the Agency.

Organisation & administration

 Responsible for updating and inputting into the monthly Client Development

review plans and implementing actions in order to meet the shared vision

and agreed objectives.

 Responsible for the quality control of the Agency’s Account team / Planning /

Creative output.

 Ensure you and your team are producing accurate communication at all

times.

 Responsible for ensuring a thorough working knowledge of all regulatory

bodies, including GDPR and ASA.

Partner Agencies

 Work closely with your Business Directors & Managing Partner in taking the

lead in fostering, managing and enhancing the relationship with our partner

Agencies (Media, Digital, Retailer etc.), working collaboratively and

identifying any potential growth opportunities with them.

 Ensure that we remain the Clients’ favourite agency in their roster.

People Management

 Implement a hands on approach to the management and motivation of your

team members through regular one to one meetings, conducting appraisals

in line with company procedures, setting clear objectives and identifying

relevant training and development needs.

 Responsible for working alongside your Business Director / Managing

Partner and HR in dealing with performance management issues.

 Work with Strategy Director and Managing partner in resource planning as well as liaising with Heads of Planning and Operations to accurately

anticipate resource requirements.

 Assist HR in preparing relevant job descriptions within the recruitment &

selection process.

 Keep Senior Management updated on your team’s progression and flagging

any issues or causes for concern early.

 Be a catalyst to engender great team work and team spirit across the different

parts of the business. Your Account, Creative and Strategy Teams should

respect you and enjoy working with you.

Marketing Knowledge

 Keep abreast of changes to policy, procedures, and services by preparing

and delivering appropriate communication of these changes.

 Have a clear appreciation and knowledge of advertising and marketing

techniques and demonstrate that you are keeping yourself and your team up

to date with latest industry developments.

 Demonstrate a full understanding of Client Sector and be able to advise on all

relevant markets/products accordingly.

 Maintain an accurate overview of their business with up to date knowledge of

key market data, brand performance and business and marketing objectives

– and ensure your team is fully informed/briefed.

 Work with the Business Directors / Managing Partner in setting and

delivering income forecasting of accounts plus reporting any upsides or

downsides ASAP to the CFO/CEO/MD.

 Responsible for ensuring profitable levels of income across your Client

projects; take necessary action to ensure Account (Agency) profitability.

 Ensure that you adhere to all company financial processes and deadlines in

place, and that all work is produced to a high level of accuracy.

 Helping clients setting budgets, working with your Business Director /

Managing Partner in scope of work proposals and liaising with CFO and Ops

Director in estimating Agency resource to input into these proposals.

 Work closely with Business Directors or Managing Partner to achieve

projected revenue targets and profitability reports.

 

Experience check-in

 Solid grounding in CRM & direct marketing and be fluent with how these

disciplines have evolved with the rise of digital and marketing automation

technologies.

 Should be numerate, comfortable with multiple data sources and be able to

distil complex data/technology concepts into ideas, strategies and plans

which are easily digestible by others.

 Need to be able to get to insights that make people stop & think differently.

 Should be able to spot commercial opportunities, drive them forward and

write an eloquent case for your recommendations.

 Should be a collaborative worker, articulate, with a strong attention to detail.

 Should be able to champion the discipline of CRM & increase understanding

across the agency.

 Should be able to present convincingly and with gravitas.

 Need to be highly organised and level headed in most situations such as

pitches, big Client presentations, crisis management.

 Need to maintain strong knowledge, insight and interest in the Advertising &

Marketing sector, in particular the role of digital media, platforms and

formats.

 Need to be ambitious and passionate about the Agency, the Client and your

work.

 Be able to show proactive and innovative thinking – looking beyond the brief.

 Have a high level of confidence with both Clients and internally.

 

And most importantly, you…

You’ll be able to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence

and ease. But you’re also ambitious, hardworking & eager to learn, with heaps of initiative.

You’ll no doubt have terrific organisational skills and time management, with the

ability to multi-task and prioritise a constantly busy workload across multiple groups.

Your excellent communication skills, both written and orally, will be demonstrated by

your clear and calm personal style, while your friendly, confident manner will enable

you to deal with staff and clients at all levels. Gaining the respect of your colleagues is

key to your success in this role.

We’ll be expecting you to exhibit a ‘can do’ attitude, showing that you’re willing to

help out the team and work on ad-hoc projects as required by the agency. You’ll

always be calm under pressure and will show a sense of responsibility in everything

you’re asked to take on. You’ll be assertive but approachable and diplomatic,
