Our client is a Footsie listed Facilities company. They are looking to hire a PR manager on a contract basis. Your job will be to protect and promote the positive reputation of the companies brand through integrated media campaigns. Excellent writing skills and the ability to manage your own time are essential

You will :

  • Be responsible for delivering a full proactive PR service. This includes managing PR campaigns, maintaining a continuous drum beat of positive press activity and drafting timely, compelling and newsworthy content including press releases, articles, comment pieces, thought leadership and social activity
  • need to be able to juggle this alongside daily press office needs being able to react quickly to capably manage complex journalist enquiries and potential issues at pace, including on an out of hours basis on occasion
  • offer professional advice and guidance on media related activity to internal stakeholders
  • develop and maintain strong relationships with key journalists 
  • build relationships with internal stakeholders to find out about new initiatives, unearthing potential story angles and generating ideas, always ensuring consistent, coherent and on-brand messaging
  • be an advocate for the PR team, playing back success internally and increasing awareness of the support the team provides

Your skills

  • You’ll have previous media relations experience, either in house or with an agency, and be able to evidence delivery of strong external communications, writing with clarity and producing punchy copy will be second nature
  • You’ll be a highly motivated, hands-on, go-getter with a nose for what makes a good story.
  • Driven by results, you’ll have proof of leading your own activity as well as offering a safe pair of hands
  • Resilient, with the drive and ability to work under pressure, you’ll be highly organised and able to juggle multiple priorities meeting tight deadlines
  • You’ll be a team player, enjoy new challenges and have the mettle to build strong relationships with a range of stakeholders both internally and externally 
  • As a business enabler, you’ll think commercially and want to actively contribute to the success of the business through innovation and best practice
  • Being creative you’ll love getting stuck in to a campaign. Thinking outside the box is a must
