A well-established company is under new management and in new offices, presenting the opportunity to work for a business with a start-up feel but significant investment behind them. Today, the e-commerce business is in the process of being completely revised and updated, providing the customer with a service-oriented, cross-channel shopping experience. This is an English speaking company, so lends itself well to anyone willing to relocate to the very beautiful Cologne.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting in to the Head of Ecommerce, this is a very strategic role and will help informing marketing direction. The Marketing Analyst will work closely with Marketing and Ecommerce teams, identifying ways to improve the customer journey across acquisition, conversions and retention, identifying trends on website user behaviours and digital campaign performance. Through analysing web traffic and site behaviour for customer and business insights, you will support business decisions and deliver improved customer site experience and business growth (sales, margin, traffic and conversion).

You will produce reoccurring performance reports, delivering valuable insights around a range of digital campaigns including content, digital journeys and search. Using Google Analytics, you will design, create and automate weekly, monthly and quarterly E-commerce dashboards and reports as well as meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) at all levels, including executive summaries and detailed channel performance reports. Importantly, you will maintain and support Google Analytics data integrity/validation, being able to identify gaps in the current data capture strategy and collaboratively implement enhancements.

You will also effectively respond to ad-hoc report and analysis requests. Effective response will take multiple forms, including sharing historical knowledge, compilation of data from diverse sources and reaching clarification on prioritization. Some analyses will require advanced analytics reporting to answer deeper business questions. Working in a fast paced, international environment, the role will be hands-on with a great deal of autonomy and responsibility.

What experience you’ll need

  • Demonstrable experience in web analytics in an international e-commerce environment.
  • A deep understanding of web analytics, databases / queries, E-commerce business, and data analysis.
  • Strong business, technical and analytical mindset.
  • Experienced in working with popular web analytics tools including Google Analytics.
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel and reporting/analytics tools, e.g. Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workloads.
  • Always up-to-date with the latest developments in web analytics.

What you’ll get in return for your talents

There is a very competitive salary of up to €50k (DOE), however please still get in touch if you’re a little over this banding as there could be scope to extend for exceptional candidates.
