G7 Senior Strategic Communications Manager – EU Exit

Are you a senior communications specialist with strong experience across the communications disciplines working in complex organisational settings? Do you have demonstrable experience of leading communications planning and delivery t?  Do you want to apply your expertise to some of the most important issues facing the UK and play a direct role in shaping the country’s future?

We are looking to recruit an exceptional and innovative communications strategist who understands that successful strategies are built on the right data, deep understanding of business objectives and buy in from the right people. You will join the Home Office Communications Directorate and play a critical role in designing and implementing communications activity to support the UK’s successful withdrawal from the European Union. However, the cross-cutting nature of the brief means your work will range across Home Office policy areas and you will have an opportunity to shape activity across the board.

Leading a team of communications specialists, you will engender an outward-facing culture that joins up different communication functions, sets strategic direction and makes sure we stay on course by measuring delivery and progress.

You will be expected to develop, plan and implement communications strategies that deliver measurable change. You will therefore need credible experience across the communications mix and have the authority, personal impact and personal resilience to bring people with you.

The Home Office offers excellent career progression prospects and invests in ongoing professional development. Successful candidates will be entitled to a competitive pension and benefits package, just as you would expect from a large, progressive employer like the Civil Service. You will also have access to extensive professional support networks, such as the Government Communications Service.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion at the Home Office. That means we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive workplace where all our people are able to bring their whole selves to work and perform at their best.
