Sales Manager – Events, £40K+ OTE £100K

Our client is a B2B media company, operating mainly in the logistics and supply chain industry. It produces a range of magazines, exhibitions, conferences and other events aimed at connecting buyers and sellers together.

The role

The Sales Manager, working with the rest of the commercial team, will be responsible for building and maintaining strong business relationships with new and existing clients to deliver their long-term business objectives. The work will involve selling solutions centred around their events/conferences portfolio. This role is as much concerned with generating new business, by working with the events arm of the business, as it is working on existing conferences/events.

As a senior member of the commercial team, the Sales Manager will be expected to use their skills, knowledge and experience to ensure that all targets are met and services delivered to clients. This includes, but is not limited to, processing all bookings accurately, ensuring that the service can be delivered as requested, and taking responsibility for progressing the booking to its satisfactory conclusion. 

The role will involve a high level of sales activity, demonstrating a high degree of proactive and canvassing sales calls and meetings, whilst ensuring regular servicing of existing clients. 

Profile and qualifications

The Sales Manager will be able to demonstrate the ability to sell a range of products and services to senior/C level executives. You will have a tenacious, creative and consultative approach to your clients; enjoy juggling a number of projects at once, and thrive on building new revenue opportunities within a close-knit team. Previous experience in the supply chain area is not essential, however, getting to grips with a complex market is.

You will have extensive sales experience and a proven track record for consistently hitting sales targets and generating income. Ability to sell face to face and over the telephone is essential.
